2010/2011 AGM & Director nomination important dates
- 6th September- Director nominations open

- 4th October- Voting opens (if required)

*The Annual Report will be available on the website, electronically or on request from reception. Nominations are called for positions on the board of directors for 2010/2011 The triennial rule applies and the group comprising of the following positions are to be elected.
Group 1 1 x Captain – 3 year term
2 x Director – 3 year term
Nominations will close on 25th September, 5.00pm.
Please Note: Members nominating for the directors positions may nominate for each director’s position however a separate nomination must be submitted for each position stating the nominated position. A brief resume and photograph is to accompany the nomination/s for the purpose of public display. Nomination forms are available on request from the General Manager.
All nominees will be required to undertake pre-nomination online training. Some timely reminders for members. The greens will be renovated as planned week beginning 30th August. We need to do this in preparation for summer and to continue to provide members with the premier putting experience in the Illawarra and the greater South Coast Region. Bag Tags By now all full playing members will have received their yellow golf bag tags. Please attach them to your golf bag so you can be identified whilst on the golf course. If for some reason you need a new one - please see reception. Social play registration. Thank you to those members who notify the proshop when playing socially on the course. We ask you to do this for several reasons that include insurance liability and course usage statistics. All you need to do is give a friendly tap on the window or a wave to staff in the shop and we'll know your out on the course. Tiger Tee Tournament I have recently heard stories of difficult pin placements, super fast greens and unfavourable winds making the tiger tee days an extremely hard event and a real test of ability. I wonder if this has anything to do with the unusual spike in club throwing incidents. The tiger tee events are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, any player that breaks their handicap wins a sleeve of balls. The best 6 of your eight nett scores will be combined and the overall winner will receive a set of Titleist wedges valued at over $600!! Beverage Cart On a serious note we would like to ask more members to consider supporting the beverage cart as this service is not being used. We acknowledge that it is not always suitable to purchase a bottle of drink from the cart, (particularly on days like today when the temperature was -10 degrees). However, we would ask that those members bringing alcohol and other drinks onto the course refrain from doing so and purchase from the cart instead. We understand that the cart pricing is, at times a little more than you pay for at the local bottle shop, however it is important to understand that the little bit extra you pay at the club goes back into the club. So please support the beverage cart so we can continue this service for the benefit of all members. Extra Weekly Competitions From the recent board survey, it was identified that members would like to see more competitions during the week. We would love to hear your feedback on whether you would support or have the time for an afternoon 9 hole and/or a mixed event one day mid week. Don’t be shy, if you have a suggestion please send it through. Every Saturday Jazz in the lounge area from 3pm. Every Wednesday Come and join us for a hand or two of poker starting at 6.30pm. Last week saw nearly 50 players so get in early and register to win cash prizes. 3rd Wednesday every month until November: WGC’s “Titleist Tiger Tee” Event. Play from the new black tees and test your skill. This event will be a stroke event, played in two divisions. All those who break their handicap will win 4 Titleist golf balls of their choice and still be eligible to win from the normal prize pool. This event will be run over the next 8 months on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. The best 6 of your eight nett scores will be combined and the overall winner will receive a set of Titleist wedges valued at over $600!!  |
